The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant.-General Tukur Buratai has said that there are plans to re-organise troops deployment in the North East to give them reasonable comfort in the field.
Buratai, who made this known when he received the House of Representative Committee on Army, said that the issue of troops’ welfare was being given priority.
He assured the committee the army would continue to remain apolitical and subject itself to the supremacy of constituted political authorities, while discharging its roles.
He solicited for more fund but appreciated the support the National Assembly had been giving to the armed forces, especially the army.
Earlier, the Chairman of the committee Rammamande Shawulu, assured that the national assembly would take the issue of security very seriously.
