Super Eagles Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf, said on Wednesday that the home-based Eagles loss to Ghana in the West African Football Union (WAFU) final would not affect the team’s performance in CHAN competition.
Yusuf said in Abuja, that the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) will kick off between January 12th and February 12th in a yet to be decided country after CAF stripped Kenya of hosting rights.
He said the technical team was working hard to prepare the team for better CHAN outing.
The Coach who restated his confidence in the players, said football was a game where winning and losing were inevitable, adding that the Eagles were simply unlucky. He said the team would not only make the country proud at CHAN, but improve on their form.
It would be recalled that the Eagles on September 24th, lost the final of the WAFU cup 4-1 to the Black Stars.
