The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF has welcomed the decision of the Federal Government to reduce the cost of Joint Admissions, and Matriculations Board, JAMB and National Examination Council, NECO forms by 30 per cent.

The Northern Nigeria socio-cultural body said the decision is a good development as it will reduce the financial burdens the high cost of forms had placed on the students and parents.

A statement signed by the forum’s Publicity Secretary Muhammed Ibrahim Biu however called on the Federal Government and National Assembly to consider the possibility of reviewing the JAMB Act in favour of extending the validity of the JAMB results beyond one year in order to reduce the frequency and yearly financial burden being incurred by students and parents.

It will be recalled that the forum F had in March this year expressed serious concern over the high cost of forms charged by JAMB and other examination bodies.
